Intro to Mosaic: Buy a Whole Workshop for up to 5 people
Have a boring or blighted backyard wall you’d like to embellish? Looking to add color and interest to a garden path or indoor space? In this 2-part workshop at my studio in NE Portland, I’ll introduce you to the (addictive?) magic of broken-tile mosaics. Don’t worry if you don’t feel “artistic” — no art or design skills are required to learn this.
On Day 1 (3-hour session), I’ll guide you in creating your own simple mosaic design, which you'll stick onto a 6” - 12” base. You’ll have access to my abundant collection of salvaged tiles and interesting do-hickies with which to assemble your creation.
On Day 2 (2-hour session) we will grout our mosaics. That’s the finishing process where we fill in all the cracks and spaces between the tile pieces.
This is a project-based class. You’ll come away from Day 2 with a small completed mosaic for the garden or mantle and skills you can apply to other projects. The possibilities are endless!

This is a private workshop for your group. You gather a few friends (vaccinated, please; contact me with special circumstances) and we’ll schedule your session for up to five participants, plus me, in my 320 square-foot studio space. I’ll be observing current local protocols regarding masks and distancing. Weather permitting, we can have windows and doors open, or even work outdoors.
The studio is accessible to people who use wheelchairs or other mobility aids. Visitors may drive or roll right up to the double doors via the back alley. However, the restroom is up 4 deck stairs, inside the house. Contact me (pam@allhandsart.com) about other modifications you or your group require.
** I can also offer this workshop virtually over Zoom or Google Meet, if you either supply the materials or order them in advance from me. I charge $85 per hour for instruction (not including materials) and you may invite as many people as you want. Contact me to arrange details, or for more info.
